Senior Cost Accountant
Our Senior Cost Accountants are responsible for analyzing and recording the financial side of our manufacturing activities, translating operating data to generally accepted accounting statements. The highly visible position analyzes and communicates the drivers of product cost to management with an ultimate goal to improve profitability by reducing product costs and providing accurate accounting information used in strategic business decisions.
Specific Responsibilities include:
• Month end closing of production inventories
Make adjusting entries for inventory/WIP transactions
Reconcile ending balances to general ledger
• Review and preparation of sales order quote cost workups
• Support of annual business plan
• Monthly inventory reporting (raw materials, turns, cycle times, and product line totals)
• Work with production on monthly spending variances
• Analyze major sales projects, costs, and report on profitability
• Complete annual physical inventory and reconciliation
• Participate in annual government annualization re-costing process
• Identify cost reduction opportunities; monitor and report progress
• Prepare ROI and related analyses for capital projects; monitor progress
• Support other accounting projects as needed

Qualifications
This position requires a B.S. in Accounting or Business and 3+ years of cost accounting experience which includes current cost analysis proficiency in a manufacturing environment. Successful candidate must possess a high level of established computer accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing costing system, with strong knowledge of MS Office applications. Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and maintain harmonious working relationships with employees and the public.
